Joining & Availability
When is the campground open?
Gamler's is a seasonal campground. The season runs from May 1 through October 31.
Can I book a night, a weekend, or a week?
No. We don't offer overnight, tent, or weekly stays to the public. Our sites and cabins are seasonal, for campers who keep a spot with us for the whole season.
Do you have any openings right now?
Right now all of our seasonal sites and cabins are full, and we keep a waitlist. The best way to get a spot is to join the waitlist.
How do I join the waitlist?
Fill out the waitlist form. We'll contact you by phone or email when something opens up, along with current rates and next steps.
How much does a site or cabin cost?
Rates and deposits aren't listed online. Contact the office by phone at (717) 862-3303 or by email at info@gamlerscampground.com for current rates and deposit details.
Can I live at the campground?
No. Gamler's is made for weekend getaways. Stays are limited to two continuous weeks at a time, and the campground can't be used as a full-time residence or mailing address.
When is the office open?
During the season, the office is open Friday and Saturday 8am to 8pm, Sunday 8am to 3pm, and weekdays by appointment. Call (717) 862-3303 or email info@gamlerscampground.com.
Sites & Cabins
What hook-ups do the sites have?
All 116 seasonal sites have water and electric, and 56 of them are full hook-up. Sites have a mix of 30 amp and 50 amp service.
How big are the sites?
Site sizes vary. Our largest sites fit campers up to about 40 ft, but those sites are limited.
What kind of camper can I bring?
Camping units must be RVIA-approved RVs. Units 15 years old or older need management's approval before they move onto a site.
What are the cabins like?
We have 22 seasonal cabins, and like our sites they renew every year. We share the details of each cabin when one is offered. To get in line, join the waitlist, or contact the office at (717) 862-3303 or info@gamlerscampground.com with questions.
How many cars can I park?
One car per site, for sites and cabins alike. Other parking areas are available for extra cars.
Do sites and cabins renew every year?
Yes. Seasonal sites and cabins renew every year, starting May 1.
Boats & Docks
Can I store my boat at Gamler's?
Yes. We have indoor and outdoor boat storage for boats up to 27 ft, plus boat ramps and fuel right on site.
Do you sell boat fuel?
Yes. We sell 90-octane ethanol-free (non-ethanol) gas, and boats can pump it right from the water. It's the only gas option on Lake Aldred. Fuel hours are the same as the office hours: during the season, Friday and Saturday 8am to 8pm, Sunday 8am to 3pm, and weekdays by appointment.
Do you have dock slips?
Yes. We have approximately 49 full-time dock slips, which are currently waitlisted, and approximately 34 weekend-use-only slips, with limited availability.
Do I have to be a camper to get a slip?
No. Dock slips are available to campers and non-campers alike.
How are slips assigned each season?
Previous dock holders get first choice for the next season. To get in line for a slip, join the waitlist and choose the slip type you want (full-time, weekend, or both).
Guests & Pets
Can I have guests?
Yes. Sign guests in before they arrive. Every site and cabin has free guest privileges: on non-holiday weekends, two guests or one family (two adults and their minor children) are free. Additional guests are $2 per person per day. On holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day), all guests are $5 per person per day.
Can my guests stay overnight in a tent?
Overnight guests sleep in your own camping unit. If guests sleep in a tent instead, you'll be charged a guest tent fee. That fee only applies to campers' guests. We don't rent tent sites to the public.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Keep pets leashed and clean up after them. There's a limit of two dogs per site, and proof of dog liability insurance must be on file at the office.
Rules & Agreement
What are the quiet hours?
Quiet hours are 11pm to 8am.
Can I use a golf cart?
Yes. Golf carts need a licensed driver and proof of insurance on file at the office. The speed limit throughout the park is 5 mph, and golf carts can't be operated between 11pm and 8am.
Where can I find the rules and the Seasonal Admission Agreement?
Current campers can find the rules and the current Seasonal Admission Agreement on the Rules & Agreement page.
Do I need to sign the agreement?
Paying the seasonal fee or deposit means you accept the Seasonal Admission Agreement, including the campground rules and regulations. Payment counts as your acceptance in place of a signature.
What if I don't plan to renew?
Current campers who don't plan to renew must let the campground know at least 30 days before their agreement expires.
